Flamenco Puro - Facility Requirements (Large Venues)

Variances may be acceptable with prior approval of the company technical director.
Unless otherwise noted, the following list will be provided by the theater or contracting organization at no cost.

 

 COMPANY
  • The Company consists of ______ performers.
  • ______ dancers, ______ guitarists, ______ singers.

 

MISCELLANEOUS
  • Transportation for entire company of ______ people from and to airport or station, plus driver and transportation available for the entire stay of the company.
  • ______ air conditioned hotel rooms to be provided.  Hotels should be at least 4 star and should be no further than 2 miles from the performance venue when possible.  Rooms will be available until the day after the performance.  Company will comply with hotel check-out times.  Quality snacks and beverages should be available in all rooms at all times.
  • Security for the entire company and equipment during rehearsals and performance. To include security of dressing rooms and back stage area at all times.  Hotel security should also be briefed.
  • If in a country that is not English or Spanish speaking, an interpreter must be provided for the entire stay of the company.

 

STAGE DIMENSIONS & FLOOR
  • A minimum performance area of 25' (8 meters) deep, 35' (12 meters) wide (for full company).
  • Suspended or sprung wooden floor, level and free from obstacles and tape.
  • Floor must not have a recently painted or varnished surface. It must be completely dry and have no residue.
  • Black floor preferred.

LIGHTING
  • 2 color stage wash capability from front of house positions
  • 3 or 4 overhead electric's
  • 8 12' booms for side lighting positions to accommodate 4 units per boom
  • Minimum 60 at 2.4k dimmers
  • 1 programmable/memory lighting control console

APPROXIMATE NUMBERS OF SPECIFIC TYPE UNITS
  • 10 20º beam spread Leko / Profile w/shutters
  • 50 30º beam spread Leko / Profile w/shutters
  • 50 40º beam spread Leko / Profile w/shutters
  • 35 Fresnel and/or Par 64 wide flood
  • Sufficient lights for 2-3 color cyclorama wash
  • Sufficient cable to circuit light-plot, and sufficient ladders or lifts to focus light-plot

FRONT OF HOUSE SOUND SYSTEM
  • 2 main speakers
  • 1 subwoofer
  • 2 1/3 oct. graphic EQ. If mono center cluster: 1 separate 1/3 oct. EQ.
  • 1 Stereo compressor
  • Power should be 4 watts per channel per audience member of venues full capacity

HOUSE MIXER & OUTBOARD
  • 24 channel mixing console with 2 monitor sends, 1-2 effect sends, 3 band EQ. (w/sweepable mids), Phase shift capability, 48v phantom per channel
  • Minimum of 4 submasters with insert points
  • 4 compressors
  • 2 reverb units
  • 1 CD playback deck (for pre show music)

MONITOR MIXER & OUTBOARD
  • 16 Channel monitor mixing console with minimum 3 pre-fade mixes, located off-stage left
  • 3 1/3 oct. EQ
  • 4 sidefills (1x15" & 1x2")
  • 2 wedges (1x12" & 1x1")
  • 1 wedge for monitor mixer position
  • Power should be 2 watts per channel per audience member of venues full capacity

MICROPHONES
  • 2 Crown PCC 160.  Place the mics up stage on a 2 inch layer of foam that is slightly sloped (about 10 degrees or so) towards the stage.
  • 3 AKG 451 (using a phantom power of +48VDC)

HEADSETS
  • Communication needs from stage manager to all various crew positions during performance; to include light board op., sound board op., stage left and stage right positions and from audience seating area to all various crew positions.  Should also be available during rehearsals.

SOFTGOODS (Pre hung)
  • Velour or duvetyn legs and borders with at least 2 entrances on each side of stage
  • 1 black or dark blue cyclorama
  • 1 black scrim
  • Full Black-Out curtain upstage, with adequate upstage crossover.
  • Front House Main curtain.

PROPS
  • ______  wooden, sturdy, armless and visually similar, straight-backed chairs to be used on stage during performance.  Black or a dark brown preferred.  No chrome.

DRESSING ROOMS
  • _____ dressing rooms with full length mirrors, clothing racks, tables and chairs
  • Dressing room assignments will be made by company at time of load-in
  • If possible, dressing rooms should be located on stage level
  • Various sodas and bottled non-carbonated water with cups.
  • Quality vegetable, cheese, and meat snacks available during rehearsals and performances.
  • Clean towels shall be provided for ARTIST'S use in dressing rooms and on stage.
  • Dressing rooms will have private sinks and toilets.
  • One green-room should be available (out of hearing distance of the stage) for the musicians to warm-up and be used as a storage room for instrument cases etc. The green room should also have stage sound and cast call.  This room must be locked or protected by a security guard when not occupied.

WARDROBE
  • 1 steamer and iron w/ironing board
  • 1 Experienced wardrobe crew person
  • Sufficient space and tables needed to steam and iron flamenco dresses

TEMPERATURE
  • A minimum of 67 degrees F (19 degrees; C) must be maintained on stage and in all dressing rooms when company is present in the theater facility

TECHNICAL CREW
  • The sponsor must provide experienced crew for load-in, rehearsals, performances and load-out of the company. The exact size of those crew calls shall be determined by the company's production manager and the production manager of the theater
  • Assuming there is a pre-hung, circuited lighting plot and softgoods, a typical breakdown would be:

    4 HOURS LOAD-IN / FOCUS LIGHTING
    4 electricians, 2 sound technicians, 1 wardrobe person

    4 HOURS SOUND CHECK AND DRESS REHEARSAL
    2 stagehands, 1 sound board operator, 1 additional sound person for sound checks preferably Spanish speaking, 1 light Board operator, 1 wardrobe person

    4 HOURS PERFORMANCE
    2 stagehands, 2 sound board operators, 1 light Board operator, 1 wardrobe person
